*NEWDATE DATAFILE*
· The `NewDate.data' file supplied with this program has support for the
following languages:-
* ENGLISH * GERMAN * SPANISH * ITALIAN * FRENCH
· The languages here a just a fraction of those spoken around the world.
· You can easily add your own language to the data file, however, there
are some rules you must follow.
· Let us say your native language is Swedish.
· The first thing you must do is load the `NewDate.data' file into an
ASCII based text editor (EdWord for example).
· Second, you must locate the end of the data in the file. Move the
cursor through the text until you come to the EOF (End Of File) marker.
· Next you must define the start of the new language data as follows:-
#SWEDISH « This is for our example only!
· Then you must enter the twelve months of the year and the days of the
week in the language you wish to append to the data file. As you
enter the data, you must press the RETURN key after every line you
enter. The first character after the very final carriage return in
the datafile will be an EOF marker. Of course the EOF file marker is
hidden from view, however, programs like EdWord will inform you of it.
· You should have no problems entering data. The other languages are
there to provide you with examples of entering the data.
· Once data has been entered, you should *SAVE* the data.
· You should be now ready to use your new language.
· Installing the new language from the CLI :-
1.>> NewDate LA=Swedish LF=Sys:C/NewDate.data LX
· The above line will instruct the NewDate program to install the Swedish
language data into the program executable.
· Now you can follow the instructions in the previous sections to use
NewDate.
· Any language can be incorporated into NewDate, be it Norwegian, Russian,
Polish, Danish, Estonian, Greek or Welsh! The versatility of NewDate
should satisfy everyone.
· Feel free to send new langauge files to the authors at any time!
